Asbestos Surveys
Our Surveyors have a robust knowledge of asbestos products, types of premises and age associated with asbestos usage. Also the homogeneity, appropriate sampling strategies and techniques of asbestos products. Our Surveyors have a minimum of 6 months experience surveying with at least 5 surveys being assessed before authorisation. Our minimum qualification levels are: BOHS P402 or Certificate of Competence in Asbestos.
Management surveys record the location, extent and product type of any presumed or confirmed ACMs (Asbestos Containing Materials). They document the accessibility, condition and surface treatment of any ACMs, determining the asbestos type, either by collecting representative samples for laboratory identification, or by making a presumption based upon product type and appearance etc.
Refurbishment and Demolition surveys involves an often destructive inspection to gain full access to all areas. It must record the accessibility, condition and surface treatment of any ACMs, determining the asbestos type, either by collecting representative samples, or by based upon physical identification.
Survey data is collected on handheld electronic devices, before being formulated into a draft report. All samples collected at site are submitted to our UKAS laboratory (No. 0642) for analysis. The floor plans are submitted to our in-house CAD department for production. Once the report is complete, a draft version undergoes quality checking.
