Occupational Hygiene

Hand/Arm Vibration (HAV) Assessments

HSL Compliance can provide Hand/Arm Vibration (HAV) Assessments. Thus, helping employers to reduce the risks from regular use of vibrating tools and equipment.

The risks associated with prolonged use of vibrating equipment are well documented. For example, excessive exposure can cause Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS), carpal tunnel syndrome and vibration white finger. As a result, Hand/Arm Vibration (HAV) assessments are important.

Employers are legally responsible to manage vibration risks and assess exposure levels, consequently reducing risks wherever possible. The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 provides guidance on this.

In addition, we can provide Hand/Arm Vibration (HAV) assessments from qualified occupational hygienists. They will establish the risk levels and who is most susceptible, measure the exposure levels and provide a clear report document the risk and a management plan to reduce this.
